Best Eyelash Extensions Techniques For Lash Artists

Lash Artist

As beginner lash technicians, we all asked ourselves at least once “how do I get better in this industry”? “How can I grow and become more qualified”? In today’s article, we collected some useful eyelash extension application techniques that may come in handy when you’re planning to create that eyelash extension set of a century.

A key point for us here is to ensure that client feels safe and knows that you surely put a lot of effort into their lash look. So when you’re thinking about small details, building transparent conversation with your customer, and constantly improving your skills, the overall experience from the lash extensions appointment will be incredibly pleasant.

Patch 'em down properly

Ensuring that the client’s bottom lashes are patched down properly is the first and probably most important step in the whole process. Be attentive and make sure that the pads won’t make any pressure on the eye of a client, it may cause redness and make a person feel uncomfortable. If you noticed redness in the bottom of an eyeball then it’s definitely not a reaction to fumes. Just watch that the pads are applied firmly, and if not, don’t try to stick them again. We recommend replacing them with new ones. It’s a great idea to choose gel pads that are soft, moisturizing, hypoallergenic, and come in convenient packaging.

Essentiality of Isolation

The essentiality of isolation is undoubtful, so before you proceed with more advanced and complicated tricks, we advise you to make sure that you ace the basics.

The golden rule for perfect isolation is 90 degrees angle. You don’t have to stick with just one place, it’s better when you are applying the extensions to both eyes simultaneously, as it may prevent natural lashes from sticking one to another. It’s also a good opportunity to experiment with different eyelash extension styles and types of eyelash extensions.

I am the Fixer here

We are not new to the situation when a client comes from a previous artist and you see that natural lashes were damaged. What can be done except for lash refill or removal of the previous set? Besides great-quality make-up products and lash serums for natural lash growth you can advise your customer to eat more healthy food and explain the vitality of regular aftercare. As when dust and sebum are not removed for a long period of time, it can do serious harm to the lashes. It can also be a good idea to take a break from extensions to give natural lashes a chance to become stronger and healthier before returning to the salon.

With this being said, we can definitely tell you that only practice makes it perfect. But it’s never a bad idea to take an extra course, read an article, or watch a YouTube tutorial for a better understanding of a subject.
